Plan
I planned about a 3 month study for this exam. I was required to take the exam for part of a requirement to work with a particular client. I was able to study about 1-2 hours per day. My plan was to buy the study guide. I went ahead and bought the bundle here . I found this very helpful.
Resources
I found the bundle above but also decided to watch professor Messer’s 701 series to supplement readings that were hard to grasp. The book also goes into a lot more details than is needed for the exam but if you are planning to make a career change I recommend reading all of it. Professor Messer’s course is a lot more to the point.
I also recommend buying his practice test which can be found on his website .
His practice exams were very similar to the actual exam.
I would also be sure to check out CyberKraft for the PBQ’s. You will need to practice these and the ones that he go through are very similar to what would be asked on the actual exam.
Conclusion
The exam is tough. You should prepare as such. But, the content is not impossible. It is a lot of memorization and I believe that you can do it if I can. I scored a 788 which let me pass the exam. I studied for about 2 months (5-6 hours a week) You will need to prepare and memorize things.
I have a tool that I made to help with memorizing the ports, I will be updating it but it could be fun to check out.
Best of luck. You got this!
